Liquid Crystal Displays: Panels vs. Modules
LCD glasses are LCDs without drive
circuitry, which is the electronics needed to display a symbol or
character on the LCDs. With LCD glasses, the user has to design drive
circuitry himself. LCD modules are LCDs combined with the drive
circuitry, which usually comes in the form of a PCB (printed circuit
board) containing the drive circuitry. LCD modules offers users a more
complete solution.
LCD Glasses: Standard and Customized
We offer a full line of standard LCD
glasses, which can be used in many situations. Since there is a large
selection of standard LCD glasses, you will usually find what you need
from our list. However, we fully understand the OEM requirements of many
users, and are ready to provide fully customized LCD glasses. Our
engineers will work with you closely and design the best products at the
lowest cost you can ever achieve.
LCD Modules: Character and Graphic
There are two types of LCD modules:
character and graphic. The character module is usually composed of 1 to
4 lines of 16 to 40 character blocks, with 5 x 7 dots plus cursor. Each
character block is addressed separately and can form alphanumeric
characters and a limited number of symbols. Graphic modules provide
users with a greater degree of flexibility. They are composed of pixels
arranged in rows and columns. Each pixel can be addressed individually
for text, graphics or any combination of the two.
